ENTER INTO LIFE

Enter ye in at the strait (hebrew: ישׁר - yâshar) gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. Matthew 7:13,14

We were created by (yod, hey, vav, hey; the letters of the Creator's hebrew name) for a purpose, to learn from life's experiences and to love him. Israel was to be an example to the nations; walking the strait and narrow way; notice the ישׂר ( yod, shin, resh)  imbeded in (ישׂראל (yod, shin, resh, aleph, lamed; hebrew read right to left)  yiśrâ'êl).

The Father gave us life. When death entered in through the "fall", in the garden of Eden, it gave a contrast to true life. The Creator allowed this. Humanity has experienced this change for almost six thousand years. Life (hebrew: חי (chet, yod)- chay) no longer could be taken for granted. Life became finite. Life became precious. A new appreciation for life ensued; a love of life; that wasn't there before.

The Father gave us a choice. We've been given a free will. We decide each day at every point of decision whether to do what is not good for us (short or long term) or do the right thing. Life was to be a learning experience. Every situation in life has to weighed and evaluated (if only for a moment) before being reacted upon; often for good or evil (though often grey; not clearly decerned).

The Father gave us love. He gave His Son  יהושׁע (the hebrew letters for

name; yod, hey, vav, shin, ayin). The Father allowed man to procreate; this gave an opportunity to experience love (hebrew: אהב - 'ahab) for our children. We can show our love to others (Matthew 5:43-45 Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy. But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven:)as well, which hopefully helps us understand, in a small way, how the Father loves us.as well, which hopefully helps us understand, in a small way, how the Father loves us.

The Father brought life and love together in His Son, Messiah יהושׁע (yod, hey, vav, shin, ayin), the Aleph/ Tav (את). John 3:16 For Elohim so loved ( greek: ἀγαπάω - agapaō) the world that He gave His only brought-forth Son, so that everyone who believes in Him should not perish but possess everlasting life (greek: ζωή - zōē ).

Throughout history has laboured to bring mankind to himself. uses his Torah as His standard. Israel was reminded of this at Mt Sinai after having left honouring the Elohim of their forefathers Abraham, Isaac, and Israel. The Torah continues even today to be a schoolmaster, pointing out as it always has of man's need for salvation through the Messiah. has given mankind the opportunity to choose the blessings or the  curses that are tied to the Eternal Ten Commandments.

Believers in the Messiah, as well as non-believers, reap the consequences of disobeying 's immutable Torah. Unbelievers say that the scriptures are irrelevant, only another book. Supposed believers say the Torah doesn't apply today. They obviously don't believe Elohim’s word where says it is eternal , and are selective in what they want to apply to their lives. The scriptures say you reap what you sow and multiplied, at that. Elohim will not let things be added or taken from his word without consequences.

And it shall be that everyone who calls on the Name of shall be delivered [saved]. Joel 2:32 (The Scriptures 1998+)
In the B’rit Hadashah (new testament):And it shall be that everyone who calls on the Name:And it shall be that everyone who calls on the Name shall be saved.
Acts 2:21 (Peter's reference to Joel 2:32)(The Scriptures 98+)
For everyone who calls on the Name of shall be saved.
Romans 10:13 (Paul's reference to Joel 2:32)(TS 98+)

Meanwhile people would rather live under the millions of man-made laws, than follow the few Elohim has made, with not one of his being a detriment to others when followed as prescribed.

What lies ahead for true believers?

Here  are some of the facets of our entering into life?

Let us start with Psalm 1.

Psalm 1:1-6 Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.

But his delight is in the law (תּרה tôrâh) of ; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.

The ungodly are not so: but are like the chaff which the wind driveth away. Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.

For knoweth the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish.

What does Moses have to say?

Deuteronomy 4:5-9 See, I have taught you laws and right-rulings, as my Elohim commanded me, to do thus in the land which you go to possess. And you (remember true believers are grafted in; Romans 11:17) shall guard and do them, for this is your wisdom and your understanding before the eyes of the peoples who hear all these laws, and they shall say, ‘Only a wise and understanding people is this great nation!’ For what great nation is there which has Elohim so near to it, as  our Elohim is to us, whenever we call on Him? And what great nation is there that has such laws and righteous right-rulings like all this Torah which I set before you this day? Only, guard yourself, and guard your life diligently, lest you forget the Words your eyes have seen, and lest they turn aside from your heart all the days of your life. And you shall make them known to your children and your grandchildren.

What does the Psalmist have to say?

Psalm 119:165 Great peace have they which love thy law: and nothing shall offend them.

Psalm 19:7-9 The law of is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of is sure, making wise the simple. The statutes of are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of is pure, enlightening the eyes. The fear of is clean, enduring for ever: the judgments of are true and righteous altogether.

What does Messiah have to say?

Matthew 5:17-19 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

On the way to the garden of Gethsemane, only hours before his death the Saviour makes the point several times about what the righteous would be doing, as recorded by John . "if ye love me keep my commandments, ... He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him. John 14:15,21.

The question is,  why would the Messiah so close to his death still be telling his disciples how important to him, and his FATHER , the commandments were, and that of keeping them, if the commandments were being done away with in a few hours at his death , as most religious denominations teach today?

I’m going with the Father and Messiah יהושׁע on this one.

What does John have to say?

1John 2:3-6 And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments. He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of Elohim perfected: hereby know we that we are in him. He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked.

1John 5:3 For this is the love of Elohim, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.

What does Paul say in Colosians 2:14? Blotting out the handwriting [SEC# G5498 Greek: χειρόγραφον  cheirographon: legal document] of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;

Solid Greek scholarship has determined that this text does not state that the living Torah (Messiah) when nailed to the cross, brought an end of Torah (He arose from the grave), but rather that the handwritten record of the sinner’s violations of the law (the cheirographon) was nailed to the Messiah’s cross, causing those violations to be forgiven by virtue of the Messiah’s sacrifice (His shed blood Matthew 26:28 For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.).

Christianity has misusedChristianity has misused Colosians 2:14 to justify the notion that the Torah no longer needs to be obeyed. However Paul would disagree: Romans 3:31 Do we then make void the law [Torah] through faith? Elohim forbid: yea, we establish the law [Torah].

Revelation 12:17 And the dragon was enraged with the woman, and he went to fight with the remnant of her seed, those guarding [keeping] the commands of Elohim and possessing the witness [testimony] of יהושע Messiah.

Revelation 14:12 Here is the endurance [patience] of the set-apart ones, here are those guarding the commands of Elohim and the belief [faith] of יהושע [Messiah].

Revelation 22:12-14 “And see, I am coming speedily, and My reward is with Me, to give to each according to his work. I am the ‘Aleph’ and the ‘Taw’, the Beginning and the End, the First and the Last. Blessed are those doing His commands, so that the authority shall be theirs unto the tree of life, and to enter through the gates into the city. Long before the books were compiled to form “The New Testament,” Revelation 22:14 was quoted, as it is here given, by Tertullian (CE 208), and by Cyprian (CE 251) – well-known Antenicene Fathers.

We enter into life through the strait gate.

Mathew 7:13-14
Enter ye in at the strait gate : for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

John 14:6 Messiah יהושׁע taught. I am the way, the truth, and the life; no man cometh unto the Father but by Me.

Romans 5:8-10
But Elohim commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Messiah died for us. Much more then, being now
justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him. For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to Elohim by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.

An important thought in Proverbs 4:23 Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.
How can we keep our heart and enter into life?
Answer:
Psalm 119:11 Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.

We enter into life through our confession.

Matthew 10:32 Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven.

Romans 10: 9,10 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Master Y'shua, and shalt believe in thine heart that Elohim hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

We enter into life through our repentance.

Acts 2:38
then Peter said unto them, ‘ Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Y'shua Messiah for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Ruach ha Qodesh. For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the our Elohim shall call’.

Many people feel remorse over their sins (in having done them). But are not prepared to repent (to turn away from them).

We enter into life through our faith.

Ephesians 2: 8,9
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of Elohim: Not of works, lest any man should boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Messiah Y'shua unto
good works, which Elohim hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

We enter into life through our doing our father’s will.

Matthew 7:21-23
Not every one that saith unto me, Master, Master, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven;  but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven....

Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them , I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

We enter into life through our obedience.

Matthew 19:16-17

Messiah יהושׁע was asked.

Good Master what good thing shall I do, that I may inherit eternal life?
And he [Y'shua] said unto him ...
'If thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.'

Proverbs 11:30
The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; and he that winneth souls is wise.

More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.
Moreover by them is thy servant warned: and in keeping of them there is great reward.

Obedience : brings blessing .

Deuteronomy 30:19,20
I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live: That thou mayest love thy Elohim, and that thou mayest obey his voice, and that thou mayest cleave unto him: for he is thy life, and the length of thy days.

1Corinthians 2:9
But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which Elohim hath prepared for them that love him.

Commit thy works unto , and thy thoughts shall be established.

1Kings 2:3
And keep the charge of thy Elohim, to walk in his ways, to keep his statutes, and his commandments, and his judgments, and his testimonies, as it is written in the law of Moses, that thou mayest prosper in all that thou doest, and whithersoever thou turnest thyself:

Obedience : there is no substitute for it.

Therefore when thou doest thine alms, do not sound a trumpet before thee, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward. But when thou doest alms, let not thy left hand know what thy right hand doeth: That thine alms may be in secret: and thy Father which seeth in secret himself shall reward thee openly.

Obedience : means caring about others.

Deuteronomy 6:5 And thou shalt love thy Elohim with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.

And the peace of Elohim, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Messiah Y'shua.

Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content.
